Twila moved along the road, her Clefairy and Ditto in tow. Her Pokemon bounced along in step, chattering with the whistle of the wind. Twila Estrella smiled as the sun baked her skin gently. It'd been a good while since she started out with her starter Pokemon, and.. they seemed to be getting along quite well.

Ditto and Clefairy seemed to like each other very well. They often shared their food and even talked back and forth. She sighed, tired from the walk and settled down beneath the shade of a newly sprouting tree. Her Pokemon scrambled into her lap and snuggled. Gently she stroked their backs and closed her eyes.

She'd walked a long way, but there was still so much more to go. She listened to the silence around her, and relaxed for the first time in a while.
    -
    "In the sky
    an infinitude of hope,
    a canvas of glory
    all possibilities mine."

    However all was not quiet...

A soft melody wavered through the Spring air, the breeze cradling each note as a mother would to her precious offspring. The trees whistled in harmony, keeping in tune with the rejuvenating and gentle notes that were currently springing up from under a massive cherry blossom tree, each branch overflowing with delicate and beautiful petals.

The youth underneath the tree had, in his hand was what looked to be a wooden pan flute. With each gasp of breath Sven poured into the small instrument, out came a symphony of woodwind delight. On his lap was a Kecleon, curled into a tight ball of utter relaxation, her tail flicking occasionally as the young man reveled in the notes, channeling his music into the air to flutter and dance with the azure, cloudless sky.

Occasionally he stopped in order to take a swig from his small orange canteen, eyes flicking to the surrounding wilderness with an appreciative smile etched on his sharp features. He’d always been a sucker for wildlife. Something about nature itself stimulated his brain, pouring the bare essence of rampancy and ecstasy through his soul, a delightful energy which caused him to do the strangest things…such as sit under a tree in the middle of nowhere and unleash some of this wild and near animalistic energy into an instrument he'd never played before today. He set his canteen to the side and stretched gently, attempting to keep the lizard on his lap asleep as he stretched his arms above his head, his fingertips brushing against the wispy and cloudlike petals.

Sven’s eyes studied over the pan flute resting in the nearby grass. It was an inexpensive trinket he’d picked up at the harbor before his departure to Nary, one of the last vestiges of his homeland left to him. He reached for it, brushing against Anima’s glossy scales as he gently gripped the small instrument. The small wooden grooves were soft and almost flexible under his lithe fingers, each of his digits curling firmly around the small instrument He slowly ran a fingernail along the edge of the beige pipes, enjoying the sensation of palatable wood underneath the sensitive pads of his fingers. He raised the pipes to his lips again, his mind reeling with creative and unrestrained energy as he breathed in deeply

    WHAM!

Sven’s flute was swiftly yanked from his fingers, his eyes widened in surprise as Anima, who was enjoying a peaceful nap until she was awakened by Sven jostling her in his attempts to grab his panflute was steaming. Her scales flashed a vibrant scarlet as her pupils locked into Sven’s.

“What did I say about waking me moron?” she hissed up at him, flicking her long tail to keep the instrument out of Sven’s reaching hands.

“Dammit Anima, give it back to me. That's an order” he glowered down at the lizard. Last time he disturbed her nap, he awoke in the middle of the night with a fresh pile of Anima-saliva pouring onto his chest. But this however, this was different. His creative mood was killed by this…this pretentious lizard! He stood up, his eyes narrowing in annoyance as he held a hand out for his flute…

Instead, Anima had other ideas. She skittered onto the nearby trail, her broad reptilian muzzle breaking into a smirk as she quickly slinked into the nearby trees. She’d hide for awhile, stash this stupid little instrument and watch as the bumbling fool stumbled through the forest searching for her. These pleasing thoughts sent the bright scarlet scales into a leafy-green, more relaxed color as she glanced around her surroundings, taking note of how thick the trees were deeper into the forest. She skittered further into the woods, her tiny paws brushing small amounts of dirt behind her as her tongue flexed out of her mouth to taste the nearby air. The scents, the tastes of leafy plants, moist dirt and luscious flowers and…strangely enough…another human poured into her mind as she paused for a second, an idea formulating in her conniving little head. She would seek out this other human, place the flute in her bag and run back to Sven with some sob story on how this big bad trainer had stolen his flute.

Her head peaked out of the nearby brush as she observed the human female, traveling with what seemed to be a small pink puffball with eyes and a purple blob that was riding on her shoulders. Her reptilian lips curled back into a wide smile.

“Perfect” she growled to herself, jumping before the trainers path with a curious head tilt before walking up to her ankles and giving her trainers a small nuzzle with her head.

“Hi!” she purred happily up at the human up at the human, her scales brushing against the girl's jeans as she glanced up quizzically, wondering if the human actually spoke Pokemon.
    -

Twila blinked and looked up at the dazzling sun, blinking away the multicolored spots that danced before her eyes. She shook her head to clear the glaze that fogged over her thoughts. She leaned away from the tree, her bag falling to the ground and spilling a few of its contents. Among which contained a few pokeballs, pokefood

Her Clefairy perked up while her ditto dozed softly, murmering soft sounds. Clefairy looked down at the newest arrival, who seemed to be nuzzling among Twila's legs with a mix of suspicion and jealousy.

    "Uhm... Hi there!"

She looked around for the Kecleon's owner, and seeing no one yet in sight, reached down to pet the pokemon.

"Whatcha got there?" she questioned, reaching tenatively toward the object the Kecleon held in its tail.

Before Twila could pry the object from it's tail, however, her Clefairy hopped down, and tugged on the flute-like object.

" 'Emme see." the Clefairy practically pouted as she tugged away.

"Easy, Clefairy.." Twila shivered and felt her stomach drop as she had to call her pokemon by it's species type, rather than a well deserved name. "We need to name you two.." With that she stroked the gooey purple pokemon who sat on her shoulder. The sudden smoothing of fingertips over its gellotinous surface startled the poor thing and it promptly plopped into her lap.

With this Twila giggled softly. When she noticed there was still no owner in sight for the overly friendly Kecleon she looked about again and said "Where's your trainer?" She assumed that this pokemon belonged to a trainer. It wasn't shy, like most breeder's pokemon were, and it certainly wasn't a wild specimen.

"Can't be too far off if you've got his.. What is it..?" she tried to look at the instrument which the Clefairy now held in her hands. Twila had never been.. blessed with knowledge of arts nor of music. Cleaning and cooking where the only activities her parents thought suitable for their only daughter.

    ---
Anima growled at the Clefairy. Although she was playing a trick on Sven, leaving the flute in the care of this...this childlike piece of fluff was unacceptable. She yanked the flute away from the creature glared at the little thing. It may be cute and fluffy...but it needed to learn its place.

The Kecleon shrugged as Twila asked her questions, tugging at the girl's jeans with her clawed fingers, her tongue flicking out to taste her jeans, attempting to get a bearing on where this human had come from. If she'd come from a nearby town, she most likely had food with her. And if she had food...well...perhaps she had something a little better than the protein supplements that her oh so loving trainer gave her on a daily basis. She was a fickle creature, used to the fine dining of constant poketreats that the lab assistants used to feed her daily. Her mouth began to salivate at the thought of the juicy and savory treats that tasted like meat, the slightly bitter ones that tasted like chocolate...and her favorite of all....Oreos. She turned her attention back to the trainer, her yellow eyes scanning for food.

"Isha panflute!" she crooned up at Twila, her voice's pitch slightly higher and more eager than usual...the perfect disguise to manipulate newbie trainers with. Her tail flicked in a clockwise motion. "You put the mouthpiece to your lips and you blooooowwww" as her massive tongue flopped to the muddy ground as she attempted to make a blowing gesture. Yes, it was humiliating. Yes, it made her look rather stupid (Something that Anima couldn't usually stand)...but anything, anything for Oreos!

Oh. Wait. She hadn't even asked for Oreos.

She gave a lofty sigh as she tilted her head upwards. And uttered two simple words.

    "Oreos please?

    ---
"A Pan-flute, huh?" She reached down, expectantly for it. Curious. The Clefairy growled in anger as the object was snatched back. "I don't suppose it's yours.. Seeing as you.. Well.." her voiced trailed off as the Pokemon began describing how to play. She giggled softly as the Kecelon's tongue lolled on the ground.

"Oreos?" Twila looked at the Pokemon, unsure if that was what it had just asked for. She looked to the contents of her spilled bag and shook her head. "Sorry, no Oreos." She did however, reach into her bag to produce poketreats. One for each Pokemon.

She handed the Clefairy a treat, prodded the Ditto from its slumber again, and offered one to the Kecelon.

"Clefairy.. What type of name would you like..?" Twila felt the Clefairy had the rights to be called what she liked. After all, if Twila could choose her name, she... Wouldn't have any idea where to start..

The Clefairy perked up as it stuffed its cheeks with precious bites of the poketreat. "Uhhm." It considered, while small crumbs coated its bottom lip. "Somfin' spawhklah!" Again the crumbs rained from her tiny mouth and landed amongst the corners. She quickly licked her mouth clean and swallowed, a smile spreading as far as she could manage.

"Something sparkly, hmm? Twila thought for a moment. "How does Hoshi sound?" Twila leaned back against the tree again. "It means 'star.'" She added, for the Clefairy's benefit.

"Hoshi!" she called back, pleased with the sound of it on her tongue. "Me likeys!"

She turned to the Ditto, stroking its gooey surface again. "While we're on the subject, how about you, hmm?"

The Ditto perked up, dazed and 'spoke' in a voice that sounded.. generally neutral of gender. "I don't mind either way."

Twila closed her eyes, and thought for a long silent moment. "How about Luz?" She picked up the Ditto and turned it so it faced her in it's dreary state of near-slumber. The poor Ditto MUST be tired of all these interruptions.

"Whatsit mean..?" Again the Ditto's speech was slow and molasses-thick with the desire to sleep.

"Light.. Or, relating to it.. Moon.." She nodded, as if to reassure herself.

"Sounds gooooooddd..." It was with that the newly christened Luz gave up the fight to stay awake, and fell into a peaceful, easy slumber.

"By the way!" Twila chimed in. "My name is Twila.. What's yours you adorable little thing?" She smiled and quickly tacked on, "And where is your trainer?"

    ---
Adorable? Little thing? Who the heck did this human think she was, degrading her like she was some sort of dolly, waiting to be played and abused. And of course, she didn't have any of her favorite treat. She batted the small treat away with a flick of the panflute and just sat there, her eyes glaring up at Twila.

"I'm not a child you know." she began, her tail flicking back and forth like a metronome. Within the dusky light, her scales were shimmering into a light hue of orange. "I'm not an "adorable little thing" she motioned with her tail at the Clefairy who was happily picking the crumbs out of the sides of her mouth. "I'm not fluffy and pink and adorable...and i think i know at least how to eat without making a mess." s she smirked up at Twila. Stupid human, insulting her intelligence by treating her like her cutsy little pink fluffball...the thought of which sent Anima's small smirk raised back in a snarl. She hated cute things. Cute meant the only thing keeping an adorable little thing from becoming a snack was the ability to cry.

Before she began on another of her rants, a brilliant flash of pure red light burst from a nearby bush, enveloping the hot headed lizard in a field of polarized energy, compressing her into the barest points of matter and sending her, soaring back into her Pokeball.

"Sorry about that!" a voice cried out in the underbrush. "She's a volatile one, that's for sure!" as Sven came jogging into the clearing. It was quite clear that the youth had taken a spill somewhere along the route. His jeans were muddy, his t-shirt was ripped and he had copious amounts of mud caked solidly into his hair.

He gave Twila a small grin as he walked over to pick up his pan flute. His eyes scanned the instrument for any damage before he shrugged, unzipping his knapsack and placing the item back into his bag. "Guess i'll play it some other time...without Anima around" he sighed and turned his attention to Twila.

"Hopefully she didn't cause any problems for you." as he gave her Ditto and her Clefairy a few glances to make sure that Anima hadn't wrapped her gooey tongue around either of the two Pokemon before offering Twila a muddied hand. He couldn't help but notice how her firey hair flicked with the smallest of breezes. Her honey-almoned colored eyes that seemed to press against his own gaze with a firm resolution. She was a toughy...that was for sure. However...

"Cute Pokemon...for a cute trainer" he blurted out without stopping for a moment to consider what he'd just said. A coruscating scarlet blush began to seep into his cheeks as he backed away slightly, reeling in what he just said.

"S-sorry! Didn't mean to say that!" as the stream of apologies began to pour out.

    ---
"Hmph." Twila pouted as the Kecelon's attitude turned sour, and was recalled by her owner. The Clefairy, seeing that Twila wasn't going to pick up the abandoned treat quickly grabbed it and stuffed it into her small mouth.

As the Pokemon was recalled to it's owner's ball Twila looked up to follow the beam of light. Seeing the boy running in her direction she raised an eyebrow questioningly, and went quiet. Twila was as happy and open as could be around Pokemon. They weren't very commanding or rude. Usually.

"You should take better care of your Pokemon, and not let them run off like that." she hissed in response to his comment, ignoring his outstretched, muddied hand. In all truth, Twila was flattered that someone thought her Pokemon were cute.. Thought she was cute. However, as the crimson crept into her rounded cheeks she averted her eyes, and let her magenta hair produce a curtain around her face.

"Hiya!" Hoshi called to Sven. "I'm Hoshi! Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi!" Clearly, the Clefairy was pleased by her new title. As she hopped around the newcomer she glanced him over. "You's all dirrrty." she said, almost sing-songingly and ran to hide behind Twila.

"What happened to you?" her tone cold and distant, yet inquiring and curious. "You look like you got into a fight with a Grimer and lost." She glanced over him, up and down, and finding with a little wash-up his piercing yellow eyes, dark hair and small frame would be decent for a human being.
    ---
The haughty response of the trainer made Sven's smile flicker a little bit. It was quite true that Anima had been misbehaving a great deal lately. Wherever he slipped a finger on her Pokeball, trouble seemed to follow quickly behind. Today was no exception. She had to run into this clearing and obviously disturbed the young woman and her Pokemon, all of which sent Sven into a stuttering, blushing fit.

"S-sorry..." he mumbled, turning away his crimson cheeks to avoid the young woman's stare. He'd already made a fool out of himself by not being able to handle his Pokemon. Then he had made the ridiculously stupid comment about how "cute" she was before she had even introduced herself. Then again...how was he supposed to know how to interact with people...much less women? He'd been couped up in a psych-ward for the better part of a year, the only visitors being doctors wishing to poke-prod his brain into jump-starting his memory. There were a few times that he'd met a person in the cafeteria...but those were few and far between. It was times like these that he wished he would have stayed in the cozy confines of the medical facility. At least then he wouldn't have to deal with this disgusting performance at his attempts of forgiveness.

He knelt down as the Clefairy skipped joyfully over to him, his smile returning in its sun like intensity. "Perhaps...this isn't so bad..." he muttered to himself as he carefully patted the small patch of fur on Hoshi's forehead. The fur ran through his fingers like fine silk, each strand glossy and obviously well cared for. He gave an amused chuckle as the little creature bounced back towards her trainer.

"Yeah. I know I'm all dirty!" he responded in kind with his own singsong voice. "Ish because i had to run after my Pokemon because the little devil stole my Panflute" his voice becoming increasingly bitter. "It's not quite my fault that i look like a walking, talking, dung pile at the moment" as he flumped to the ground, sliding his bookbag off to grab some sanitizing wipes from the front pocket.

"You never told me your name. Isn't it polite for two people to introduce themselves...regardless of the situation?" his lambent eyes flicked to Twila's face as his hands began to scrape off some of the excess mud on his upper arms and legs.

    ---
Twila continued to glance at him questioningly as he patted Hoshi. Although she appreciated the way he treated her Pokemon kindly she was rather irked that the 'show of kindness' had left dark pieces of dirty sprinkled through her well-groomed Pokemon. She sighed in a rather agitated tone and began to clean her Clefairy's hair.

The Ditto resting on her shoulder yawned, wiggled its mass around, and resettled in its slumber. "You know, you apologize an awful lot. It makes me question your sincerity." Mostly, Twila said this because she couldn't stand to hear him say sorry. It wasn't like he'd screwed up too severely.. Hadn't broken a dish or burnt dinner... She shook her head, trying to clear her head of the times when she, too, had been quite guilty of the crime of repetition.

When she finally awoke from her reverie she nodded, cleared her throat, her soft voice adjusting itself. "You're right. It is polite for two people to introduce themselves. However, I don't feel comfortable giving my name to someone who hasn't given me theirs." the words flowed from her mouth smooth and crystalline-like. Fragile, almost.

It was with this speech that Luz the Ditto slowly started sliding down Twila's shoulder and chest in its sleep. Carefully, handling it as if it were made of the tiniest pieces of eggshells she rested Luz into her lap, readjusted her seating and reclined her head against the tree behind her. Hoshi, seeming... almost jealous proceeded to push herself into Twila's lap as well.

Twila smiled and laughed, for a moment forgetting Sven's presence altogether. Too happy to see her first pair of Pokemon snuggling amongst themselves. When she remembered the new boy's presence she instantly went stony faced, though she allowed her fingers to trail lightly through her Clefairy's newly cleaned fur, and over the gelatinous surface of the Ditto.

    ---
"You want to know something Ginger?" he growled up at her, throwing away the dirty towelette into a nearby bush. "I think you need to lighten up and stop acting like a priss." he stood up, saddling his bag onto his shoulders. He'd had enough trying to talk to this smartass. It's not like he meant to dirty her Clefairy or he ordered Anima to disturb their little group. This entire situation was merely a stupid accident, one that he would rather not deal with. The sun was making its hazy approach to the welcoming bed of the horizon...and to be caught within these woods after nightfall when he could be resting in a comfortable Pokemon Center was senseless indeed.

Sven checked his belt loops to account for all three of his Pokeballs before he turned back to Twila and her Pokemon. His eyes softened somewhat as he saw the Ditto and Clefairy cuddled together in a warm pink and purple ball of love. Although he was still quite annoyed with Twila, perhaps it would be better if the two of them reached the Pokemon center together. These woods would be full of wild and hungry Pokemon soon...and the thought of seeing any of Twila's Pokemon hurt sent his stomach reeling. He'd be responsible for not helping them out, he would have to live with the memory that he inadvertently caused the maiming of a Pokemon. Sighing heavily, Sven turned to Twila.

"We need to get going, these woods are going to be full of Pokemon looking for an easy catch for dinner." he offered her his hand again. "I'm Sven...and...yeah. Pokemon center" as he turned his back on the young woman, walking towards the dirt trail that would take them into the next town.
    ---
She hesitated, unsure if she was willing to take his hand just yet. Especially after he ha called her a ginger and a priss. "You know, I haven't done anything to you, and you insulted me. It's not very nice." However, she sighed as she sent her Pokemon to their pokeballs. After all they would be safest there.

She stood and stretched, ready to continue on to the Pokemon center for the night. "My name is Twila, by the way." She threw her bag over one shoulder and quickened her pace to follow him. As much as she enjoyed her new freedom, being alone, at night with such powerful wild Pokemon was... to say the least.. Terrifying.

In the orange of the fading sun Twila's eyes seemed to glow reflectivity, almost like a cat's. Her hair woosh-ed in the final breezes of the day, an the fading light gave off the impression Twila was... smiling? It couldn't be.. How could someone as sour as her be smiling at a time like this?
    ---
"Jeez Twila, i was kidding" he shrugged, stretching his legs and taking his first steps onto the route. The cool evening breeze brushed against his skin, almost as if the nature herself was welcoming his presence, willing to guide him and his companion safely to Marsh Town on this wondrous night. The moon peeked through the skyline of pine needles and greenery, the soft quarter of an orb glimmering slightly as the orange pallet behind it began to transform into a royal purple as the stars flickered to life as if the gods had personally breathed life into the celestial bodies. The woods echoed with barks and calls of all sorts, avian to hound howled their glorious songs all the while insects peeped out of their hiding places to weave their emotions into the stream of life on this spring's night.

There was no doubt about it. Tonight was perfect. Sven's heart thudded as he closed his eyes, drinking the scenery of forest, the wild calls and the stars into his body. He wasn't merely a person tonight...he was humanity's witness to the perfection that only mother nature can provide.

He turned to Twila and gave her a huge grin. His eyes were alive with energy, a glimmer of creative fanaticism pulsing through his veins, pressing against his chest and soaring into his heart.

"It's beautiful tonight. Just fabulous" he crooned, sauntering over to a nearby tree and picking a small white flower that resembled a Lily from the spindly branches. The sweet and aromatic flavor of the petals wafted over his nostrils gently as he closed his eyes, letting the sheer power of nature take control of his body. Legs relaxed and shoulders loosened, fingers clenching and unclenching as Sven slowly turned to Twila, handing her the flower.

Have a sniff, I don't think it'll kill ya'" his boyish grin seemed to glow in the semi-darkness of the twilight.

    ---
"So, Sven, huh?" she questioned, almost stumbling over her pronunciation. You think with a name like Estrella Sven would be cake. She looked around cautiously, not bothering to flinch at the bugs that wove their lives in the trees, or shiver as the other forest animals slowly sounded their calls, which blossomed into a canter of a glorious symphony. To tell the truth, Twila liked to see that even in the dark, when most beings don't see clearly they somehow managed to co-exist in a brilliant song of harmony.

Even when they don't see each other clearly, they manage to get along.

This is what Twila wished her life to be. Peaceful. Finally able to be at ease with the world around her, even if she didn't agree with their ideals.

When Sven broke her reverie with his commenting, she nodded slowly. "Mmhm." She didn't have much words for the world around her. She was at peace, and the soothing feelings and aromas of the airs relaxed her being.

When offered she sniffed the flower gingerly, and finding it's aroma pleasant she took another waft of the aurora of smells into her nostrils.

And again, Twila felt calm. Relaxed.. and almost.. sleepy? She knew the Pokemon center wasn't that far off.. but.. Her knees wobbled beneath her as her shoulders slumped as if the weight of her head were impossible to manage along with her pack.

Why was she so sleepy? It wasn't like she'd strained herself today.. She hadn't done any hardcore exorcising.. hadn't over or under eaten.. She'd had plenty of water on top of that.. Then why..? She sighed softly, but kept on at a steady pace as her eyes drooped with the oncoming promise of sleep.

Maybe it was the feeling of warmth radiating from Sven's body, or just the warmth of his kindness. Bleh. Why was she thinking of being all nice and marshmallowey? Clearly all the excitement from the day was going straight to her head.

"How far off is the Center again?" she looked to the horizon and then to Sven. "Can't be so far, can it?"

    ---
Sven's grin grew wider as Twila's eyelids flickered.

"Awww. Getting tired already? I didn't know you go to bed so early Twila!" as he turned away from her, kneeling down to reach for his bag. His fingers gripped the small orange canteen that he'd been sipping on earlier, uncapping the lid to sniff at the contents inside. A dreamy expression appeared on his face as Sven handed the uncapped bottle to Twila.

"Drink up. You'll feel better. At least it'll get you to the nearest center" as his shoes crunched the crisp grass underfoot. He couldn't get enough of the sweet elixir, buying up ten cans of the stuff before he set off on his first adventure. There was something about the sweet aroma and the tingling feeling that ran through his body as the liquid flowed through his body. Supposedly they were bad for you...or something along the lines of. But Sven didn't care. One only lives once after all.

The sun had finally set beyond the glorious horizon. Creatures of the night prowled as the duo moved towards the nearest town. Yellow eyes flickered through the dark trees, bodies scurried from all over...there was a certain rhythm in the movements...a sort of ritualistic dance between the Pokemon and the earth itself. An ancient and complex dance that wove itself through the ages and embedded itself in the form of partnership...between humans and Pokemon.

Sven's hand gripped all of his Pokeballs. Tonight was simply too...beautiful to be enjoyed by Twila and himself. The balls burst forth with a jet of pure white energy, circulating and contorting into the air to land on the ground before the two humans, a Chikorita, A Electrike...and of course, his Kecleon.

"Not all of us stay up all night playing the pan flute." She muttered and trudged along, her feet dragging. Though the words sounded harsh they were teasing, and the corners of her mouth tugged into the biggest smile she could manage at the moment.

When offered the orange canteen she raised an eyebrow wearily. Hadn't he sniffed it a moment ago? She took it, but refrained from downing the contents. "What is it...?" she lifted the opening to her nostrils and inhaled the sickly sweet aroma of the liquids inside.

"Geez! What is this? Sugar water?" hesitantly she raised it to her lips and took only the smallest of sips, testing the flavor. Her face scrunched up at the sickly sweet concoction and quickly returned the canteen to its owner.

"No thanks. How can you stand to drink that?"

She looked up to see Sven's Pokemon now released amongst the grass with them, Chikorita, Electrike and Kecelon. She glared at the lizard-like Pokemon, slightly agitated with its previous behavior, though she knew she couldn't stay mad at it.

"Is it really safe to do that..?" she asked, as she subconsciously fingered her Pokeballs and wondered if she should let her Ditto and Clefairy out. She wondered which Pokemon had been Sven's first, and put bets on the Kecelon. She wondered how Sven had managed to capture the Chikorita and Electrike, and if they possessed more.. socially acceptable behaviors than the Kecelon.

    ---
Safe? How daft could this poor girl get? Here they were, alone.

In the middle of the woods.

    After dark.

With several abnormally powerful creatures that could easily dispose of you with a simple flick of their claws.

The only defense the two would have would be their Pokemon. Their tiny little nails and soft skin wouldn't be a sufficient defense against a hungry predator. But using their own Pokemon, then they could fend off anything that got in their way.

"It might be safer if i simply tripped you up when a hungry Pokemon comes attacking! Then i could run while you deal with it" Sven smirked and snuck a sip of his energy drink. "I don't think you'd prefer that though" as his Chikorita pressed its cheek against his pantleg, nuzzling his shins lovingly. Silvinia's loving affection was a mirror image of her reptilian counterpart, a fact that Anima constantly harped on to the smaller creature. Her eyes narrowed as Sven knelt down.

"How's my sweet pea tonight?" he stroked her overly large leaf as she gave Sven several loving nuzzles. His Electrike, Apollo leaped onto his lap, shocking Sven playfully in the process.

Anima however was standing off a ways from Sven, glaring at Twila.

"See you're still around. What? Too scared to walk to the nearest town without Sven's help?" her tongue flicked out.

    ---

Twila glared as Sven made rude comments involving sacrificing her in the event of an attack. She watched his Pokemon love on him, and wondered why the Pokemon Anima was so distant and unloving. Her eyes glazed over slightly with her thoughts as she watched him stroke his Chikorita. However the zap from the Electrike brought her back, shaking her head into reality and also to answer Anima's question.

"No. I'm not. However, not all of us can be trainers, you know." She glared at Sven. How could he even think about sending his cute little Pokemon into such dangerous situations.

She grasped her Pokeballs in her palms, knowing that within them her Pokemon held level 10's. She knew that the Pokemon must have gotten those levels from battling somehow.. Yet she feared putting her beloveds into battle, squeezed the ball tighter and let go.

"Anima I think you're just afraid to show your soft side." she looked over to Sven seeing him with his two other Pokemon, snuggling and cuddling. "Why don't you go sit with him, hm? Don't you like Sven?" She crossed her arms and awaited the snappish comeback she new was going to come from the attitude of the lizard-like Pokemon.

Soft side? Pah! Why would she, the cold and calculating creature like her do with a soft side? Write poetry about how lovely Springtime was? She'd rather wring her huge tongue around a tree branch to rush past the soft greenery in a race then to appreciate how delicate and beautiful such things were.

Anima coolly flicked her tongue out in response to Twilia's multitude of questions, narrowing her eyes when Sven was mentioned.

"What has showing a soft side done for anyone hm? People who wear their hearts on their sleeves tend to have them pecked out by hungry birds" her reptilian lips curved back in a slight smirk before her scales shimmered yet again, bending the light to cloak her in the twilight.

"See. I'm not quite like you. By hiding what i think and feel, it allows me to...surprise people." her tail flexed off of the ground to leap onto Twila's back. The tiny claws pricked against her skin as yellow eyes peered up at Twila from around her shoulder. Anima casually flicked her tail around the girl, relaxing onto her shoulders.

"You are useful for one thing..." she purred. "Your shoulders are more comfortable then Sven's"

"Not everyone is a hungry bird.. Plus,it might leave you a little vulnerable, but you might be a little more tolerable to be around."

As Anima climbed her back she stiffened, rolling her shoulders.Twila felt uneasy as she perched there, making herself comfortable.

"As comfortable as you are I'd appreciate it if you got off. At least until you learn to be a bit more friendly to Sven.. and myself, I guess."

She reached behind her neck and pulled the lizard-like Pokemon from her shoulders, placing her on the ground in front of her.

Again her thoughts flashed to her poor Pokemon cramped in their tiny balls. "Sven.. Even though I'm not a trainer I could let my Pokemon out of their balls, right?" Her voice quivered slightly as she asked this. The thought of being unable to help her Pokemon, should they be attacked made her feel queasy.

The youth nodded a few times as his Pokemon began to perch on various parts of his body. His Chikorita preferred his right shoulder, while his Electrike dug his blunt claws into the back of Sven's clothing. He tilted his head somewhat as he noticed Anima and Twila chatting amongst themselves...Arceus only knew what topic of conversation was...but with Anima at the helm, it wasn't bound to be pleasant.

"Anima. C'mere!" Sven's musical voice echoed off of the clearing as the lizard scurried forth through the grass, leaving Twila behind with a small glare to compensate for her being placed on the ground once she'd gotten comfortable. Humans. Always disturbing other creatures at their absolute worst times.

"Go ahead Twila. Let 'em out." Sven offered the frightened girl his hand. "With my Pokemon and yours? Ha! Nothing could take us down!"

His Chikorita bobbed her small leaf a few times in agreement. "Yupyup!" she crooned happily at the trainer from her position on Sven's arm.

Twila hesitated before stretching her hand out and quickly recoiling, keeping her hands to herself. Instead of leaving them hanging awkwardly in the air she wound her fingers over her Poke-balls, depressing the buttons and releasing her Pokemon in a flash of light.

Hoshi and Luz stood on the grass before Twila, who was now smiling happily. "Sven, this is Hoshi, and this is Luz." she pushed the Pokemon gently toward him, in a small introduction. "Remember to play nicely, guys." she smiled and pulled her knees to her chest, resting her head comfortably on top of them.

Serenely she watched the Electrike and Chikorita love on Sven. "Your Pokemon really love you, don't they?" she smiled, glad to know there were Pokemon trainers who did love their Pokemon, even when they battled it out.
